A high-quality outdoor projection package featuring a powerful 6000 lumens projector, 310cm x 176cm inflatable screen, Portable PA system and waterproof gazebo to protect the equipment and enhance performance.

Outdoor projection - Frequently asked questions

Does it need to be dark?

Yes. All projectors are far more effective in dark environments. We recommend that presentations and videos are shown after sunset for best results. Broad daylight and direct sunlight are not suitable and should be avoided. If you have a well shaded or sheltered area where the equipment can be positioned then it may be possible to achieve good results earlier in the day.

What if the weather is bad?

We provide a strong waterproof gazebo as part of the package to ensure the equipment is protected and enhance the performance. The inflatable screen is also waterproof. 
The maximum wind speed for safe use of the equipment is 45 km/h (28 mph). The equipment should be taken down if the wind exceeds this.

If your event is cancelled in advance due to expected bad weather we are happy to work with our clients to reschedule the event at no extra charge. Once the equipment has been delivered and set up we are not able to reschedule or offer any refund.

What about power?

All of our equipment uses standard 240V mains power. We would usually connect to an available supply at the venue and we carry extension leads of around 50 metres as standard. If there is no power available then a portable generator can be provided at an additional cost.

How much space is required?

We require a total space of around 6m x 6m to set up the equipment. The projector and gazebo can be positioned either in front or behind the screen. Rear projection is usually the preferred option if you have room as this keeps the projector and other AV equipment hidden and out of the way and allows you to freely position your audience in front of the screen. Front projection can still work well where space is more limited.

Do we operate the equipment ourselves?

In many instances we set up the equipment so that it is ready to use, provide a demonstration and then collect it either after the event finishes or the following day. If you would like a technician to operate and oversee the equipment for the duration of your event then we can provide this at an additional cost.

Will a license be required?

This depends on the nature of the event and what material you are planning to show. Films, TV shows, sporting events, and music performances will often require a license to be shown in public. Please note, we supply the hire of the projection equipment only. The client is responsible for providing their own material to be shown and obtaining any licenses that might be required.

In the event that it is not possible to reschedule the event a full refund will be provided. Please also rest assured that all of our staff will adhere strictly to all government safety guidelines including wearing suitable PPE, hand and equipment sanitising and social distancing at all times.
